Imran Khan says those who tried to ‘kill’ him still in power

PTI Chairman Imran Khan

LAHORE: Former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan on Tuesday claimed those who tried to ‘kill’ him are still in power.

In November, Khan was shot three times in the leg after a gunman opened fire at his container-mounted truck during a rally, injuring several supporters and killing one.

In an interview with Times Magazine, Imran Khan said those who tried to ‘assassinate’ me are frightened that they will be held accountable If, I regain power.

The former prime minister said Pakistan’s economy is in worsening condition and only fresh elections can put the ill economy back on track of prosperity.

In Pakistan, with a population of 220 million people, there are only about 2.5 million taxpayers. People don’t pay taxes and especially the rich elite.

Earlier, PTI Chairman Imran Khan asserted that he never offered a ‘lifetime’ extension to former chief of army staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa.

In an interview to a private news channel, the former premier claimed that the country’s economy was improving when his government was in the power but unfortunately it was ousted through a ‘conspiracy’.
